San Antonio Cavern
This IS a physically challenging trip and sometimes, a mentally challenging trip! I do not recommend young children for the tour but you use your own
judgment. You will climb rock walls, swim in the dark
under stalactite faces that stop at the waterline and open into other chambers, wander up through the mountain through
various crevices and chambers into many wonders. Depending on how adventurous you are, you need rock climbing
experience
and gear accordingly. It IS possible to do this trip without climbing experience, but it is physically challenging. I will
provide food, transportation and basic equipment. This IS a physically challenging trip that can last over eight hours.
This is the most extensive cavern tour and is ideal for dedicated rock climbers and cavers (spelunkers) but you can always
start that passion here. You can bring your own gear like flashlights, climbing gear, masks, and waterproof bags etc. I will
provide a light for the lead into the cave, and the limited waterbags are
available to carry any camera equipment etc. We will
do our best to protect all your belongings, but understand that we can not accept total responsibility for them. If you let
us know in enough advance, we can locate and/or rent you the appropriate caving gear you will need for this experience. But
also keep in mind that you WILL need extra batteries.
My only REAL requirement is that you take nothing from here except pictures and memories. This IS a living cavern but the rock formations
take hundreds of thousands of years to develop, so it is imperative that this is protected and you don't collect specimine samples.
